Villa Maria has been providing Catholic health care to the Fargo-Moorhead community for more than 45 years. Our Fargo nursing home hosts 140 beds and offers long-term quality health care for our residents.
Villa Maria is inspired by the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation, a Catholic health care system that offers a diversity of programs and facilities. We serve those in our care with respect and compassion as we strive to fulfill the healing mission of Jesus.
Our services include skilled, compassionate care, rehabilitation services, adult daycare programs, individualized activities, spiritual support, and a home-like environment where residents feel connected.
The Villa Maria Childcare Center was opened in March 1980. The idea of having children in the nursing home setting was appealing to maintain the home-like environment of our facility. The children engage with residents of the home on a daily basis, hand-delivering birthday cards, visiting one-to-one in residents’ rooms, and participating in group activities together.
The Villa Maria childcare center is open to help fill a need for your family. We work at providing an environment that is comfortable for your child and provides appropriate stimulation for their age group. Each child is respected as an individual, and we work to meet his or her needs in a personalized fashion.
We are proud to be members of the following organizations:
An appropriate understanding of the mission of SMP Health System and its ministries requires that we continually acknowledge our source in the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation. Their sponsorship is never to be overlooked and we perpetuate this relationship in our logo as well as in the name of our organization.
Villa Maria is a ministry of SMP Health System. The abbreviation “SMP” pertains to the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation. The organization’s “official” name is the “Sisters of Mary of the Presentation Health System.”
Our ministry logo for Villa Maria incorporates the emblem of the Sister of Mary of the Presentation to identify and perpetuate the Sisters as the source of our ministry, its mission, history and identity.
The Emblem of the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation
In 1982 the General Chapter of the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation agreed to this oval symbol as a common community symbol to indicate membership in the Congregation.
The symbolism is explained by the Sisters as follows:
The Cross represents Jesus Christ our Savior.
The M represents Mary whose daughters we are.
The Oval signifies the Church and our Congregation.
The Cross is rooted in the earth where our lives and ministry take place.
Villa Maria Logo
The SMPHS logo is comprised of three fundamental elements:
- The oval emblem of the Sisters
- The name “Villa Maria”
- The line under the name
- An italicized “SMP Health System” underneath the horizontal line to identify Villa Maria as part of SMP Health System.
